The suspected arson of Seattle policeman Mathias Bachmeier's home leaves investigators flummoxed until, a month later, Bachmeier arrests a small-time drug dealer who confesses to the crime. Shortly thereafter, however, the suspect disappears---only to turn up dead. That event leads investigators to a new suspect: Bachmeier.
